New VP for PRISA elected

New VP for PRISA elected

Her academic experience at both a local and international level should enhance the expertise of the PRISA board.

Commented PRISA CEO Margaret Moscardi, “The overwhelming response to the call for nominations for a vice president for the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa (PRISA) reflected the support of its senior practitioners. Considering allegations and perceptions that PRISA has lost its credibility, it was quite interesting to see such enthusiasm in nominations. Surely something that has not happened in a long time.”

According to Moscardi, the six nominations submitted - Noxolo Nondyebo APR, Nondyebo Public Relations & Communications; Sam Manamela CPRP, national sales and marketing manager, Mercedes-Benz SA; Jabu Maphalala CPRP, manager - corporate communication, Chamber of Mines; Prof Ronel Rensburg CPRP, head of dept marketing & communication, University of Pretoria; Lesley Schroeder McLean APR, managing partner, PR Africa and Riaan van Rooyen APR, senior manager - Communication, Bank Windhoek - is a clear sign that these professionals were identified by members and committed themselves to serve the profession.

Continued Moscardi, “We will harness their support through projects and activities to improve PRISA's reputation, make it more relevant to members, bring theory and practice closer together, fund raise and actively promote transformation and mentorship.

“On behalf of the PRISA Board, Executive Committee, members and the national office we congratulate and welcome Professor Ronel Rensburg. We look forward to her continued positive contribution and support of the profession. Special thanks to all members who took time to nominate and also participate in the voting process. Thank you!”
