M-Web introduces internal publicity division

The new publicity division, which is part of M-Web's marketing department and reports directly to Marketing Director Chris Raats, will manage general, product-related publicity in the consumer media. Bruce Cohen, Director: Strategy, will be responsible for corporate communication.

The new division will be led by Publicity Manager Alida Kotzé. She studied journalism at the University of Stellenbosch, and worked as a journalist and sub-editor at Die Burger and Huisgenoot. After a detour into copywriting, she joined M-Net. She stayed at the pay TV operator for 12 years as publicity executive and marketing manager.

Alida will be assisted by Marguerite Joubert, who studied public relations management at the Cape Technikon. After working for various companies including Media24, she joined Text100 in 2002 as senior account executive on the M-Web account. Marguerite joins M-Web as PR Coordinator, and will also be responsible for internal communication.

Alida and Marguerite will handle all consumer media relations for M-Web, CommerceZone and icanonline; while the Johannesburg branch of Text100 will continue to do publicity for the Johannesburg-based M-Web Business Solutions, under the management of Account Director Deidre Smith.
