Finance Week journalist to join PR ranks
Well-known senior journalist Ted Keenan, Cape Editor of the original Finance Week publication, has been appointed as General Manager of PSPR BBDO, the only BBDO PR affiliate in South Africa, taking up the reins on 1 March.
"Ted will take over the daily operations of PSPR BBDO, as well as manage a portfolio of clients. I will remain Managing Director, with my business focus on building PSPR BBDO into a world class communications agency, as well as handling a portfolio of clients," said Pauline Sayers, founding partner and Managing Director of PSPR BBDO.
"While I have classical marketing and PR experience, Ted's last eight years at Finance Week have made him a highly experienced hard hitting serious journalist. His arrival at PSPR BBDO will add enormous value to our clients' PR requirements," she added.
Keenan has worked as a journalist at the Argus and Daily News newspapers, held the position of National Marketing Manager in the transport industry, and is probably best known for his in depth reporting in various categories, which include liquor and tobacco, medical aids, fuel, tourism and sport, property, wildlife (financial impact), franchising, fishing, company and political news, while at Finance Week.
