Scooting into first place again
The Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA) held its annual awards evening last week and, for the third time, Scooters Pizza won the award for Brand Builder of the Year.
"We are extremely proud to win this award once again," says Carlo Gonzaga, CEO of Taste Holdings. "Every time we receive the trophy, I feel like it's a piece of furniture returning back its rightful place."
Scooters Pizza has been making their mark on the FASA award scene since 2001 when they won their first award for Newcomer Franchisor of the Year. Since then Scooters Pizza has won the coveted Brand Builder of the Year award a record breaking three times with the latest scoop announced on 25 October 2007. This makes Scooters Pizza the most nominated and awarded brand in this awards category.
The FASA Awards for Excellence in Franchising have been presented annually since 1990, enabling FASA to recognise the sector's top achievers. Currently, five different categories are contested, namely Franchisor of the Year, Newcomer Franchisor of the Year, Franchisor: Leading Developer of Emerging Entrepreneurs, Franchisee of the Year and Brand Builder of the Year.
"We strive every year to make an impact on the franchise market," concludes Carlo. "And its awards such as these that allow us to track how well we are doing and how much of an impact we are making."
