Why Apples are for everyone
The inaugural SA Apple Week, named "Apple Is For Everyone", will run 24 - 30 October 2006 in the Fountain Court at Sandton City. It will be a show for consumers and professionals alike to explore and buy the latest digital technology for their home and workplace.
Similar to overseas events, such as Apple Expo events from Europe and the US, this event is expected to attract thousands of visitors to see, touch, and experience the latest in Apple technology.
Hosted by Apple IMC Southern Africa, SA Apple Week will feature hourly workshops, running between 9am and 5pm daily, using a large projection screen and stage, with seating for guests. All workshops are free of charge, and will cover a range of topics around organizing, editing and sharing digital photos, creating home movies/DVDs/websites and podcasts, and recording music.
The main focus of the workshops is to expose South African consumers to the latest Apple tools designed to make the most out of their digital life. All workshops will be conducted by certified Apple experts, and will interactive and hands-on. After each workshop, Apple trainers will be on-hand to then take each attendee through their own multimedia experience on a one-to-one basis.
In addition to the hourly workshops, there will also be a large experience-bar at the event, with dozens of workstations equipped with the latest Apple technology, both in the consumer and professional space. This will also be a chance for creative professionals to explore the latest Apple solutions for their current business issues.
Each evening, a different professional application will be on demonstration, including audio, video, and photographic applications. These sessions will be an ideal opportunity for visitors to learn about various Apple solutions for a wide variety of sectors such as design, video, digital photography, education, games, music and SMEs/SMIs.
