SA's best beers revealed at SANBT 2018

The country's best beers were awarded at this year's South African National Beer Trophy (SANBT) competition. Held at Beerhouse in Cape Town on 29 August, SANBT is the largest beer tasting competition in Africa to date with 212 entries and more than 20 judges.
SA's best beers revealed at SANBT 2018

SANBT is considered a purchasing guideline for beer lovers, and it celebrates diversity by having big global players competing with the Nanoscale breweries on equal grounds.

The judges were pleased with the quality of the beers entered this year, leading to the pass rate being pushed up to 39/50 to be awarded a silver medal. Styles ranged from market orientated light beers to unusual, almost geeky specialty beers.

And the winners are

Beer of the Year was awarded to Amundsen Brewery SA for Best Hoppy Beer for their Ink and Dagger.
