ANCYL: 'Press Ombudsman 'toothless, pathetically useless'

• Politics Web: Press ombudsman refuses to investigate Star/Daily Sun - ANCYL... About the only thing it doesn't seem to want investigated is ... well, not much. However, since the ombudsman has declined to investigate, the ANCYL has said it's "not shocked" and then trotted out the insults, including "the Press Ombudsman is not only toothless, but pathetically useless". The league also mentions something called "cat-justice" - whatever that might be.

• Mail & Guardian: Youth league's bitchin' PR... The press ombudsman can join the club... A quick read of Mandy de Waal's recent article in the M&G presents more than enough evidence that, while the ANCYL might be considered by many to be breathtakingly useless at just about anything, one thing that it does try hard to be good at is insulting just about every reporter it encounters. From "bloody agent" and "drunkard journalist" (this addressed to a Muslim, nogal) to Floyd Shivambu telling a female journalist that that "I wouldn't want to earn respect from white bitches... So dream on." Nice.

• Mail & Guardian: ANCYL fires broadside at journalist... According to them, Carien du Plessis is a liar "with tendencies" - whatever that might be. We wonder if anyone has tried telling these intellectual giants that when you're in a hole, it's a good idea to stop digging? This is going to be quite a court case.
