Kuli Roberts really hit a nerve with her column in last Sunday's Sunday World in a column headlined Jou Ma se Kinders in which she made some rather injudicious points that a large number of readers regarded as racist. Well, it's not the first time a columnist has been shot at dawn, and it is very unlikely to be the last. One question, however - didn't the editor or one of the other senior staff check the column before it went into the paper and on line for all to see?
