This is to inspire social entrepreneurs with success stories of other entrepreneurs, help grow the social entrepreneurship industry and increase the credibility of social entrepreneurs already doing great work. These stories will be broadcast throughout the year, making people aware of social problem solvers, entrepreneurs and innovators who might not otherwise have had their voices heard.
The project focuses on stories of social enterprises and entrepreneurs who utilise design thinking to address social and environmental issues. According to Jaco Slabbert, the project contact, "By identifying a different social entrepreneur to showcase each month, the project illustrates how social entrepreneurship is being adopted across geographical, socio-economic, cultural and historical backgrounds, in order to address pressing issues. This will be the first time that such a social upliftment project for social entrepreneurs and future role players has been devised."
