FCB Jonssons Excels at Business Day Advertising Awards

Hot on the heels of parent company FCB South Africa’s achievement in the South African Non Listed Company Award, financial advertising and investment relations specialist agency, FCB Jonssons, has excelled at the annual Business Day Financial Advertising Awards.

The agency, one of 14 specialist agencies within the FCB South Africa marketing communications group, dominated the General Announcements category taking first and second place, achieved a second place in the Chairman’s Statement category, and secured another second in the Overall Agency of The Year category.

Its detailed tally of awards was:

  • General Announcements
    1st for client Altron UEC
2nd for client Harmony Gold Mine

  • Chairman's Statement
    2nd for client Anglo Platinum

  • Overall Agency of the Year

    2nd Place

Earlier the same day (Wednesday October 24), FCB South Africa was called to the podium to collect a ‘Special Mention’, one of very few made in the history of the South African Non Listed Company Award. This, the judges said, was to acknowledge the group’s integrated business strategy which they felt was ahead of the rest of the industry, gave it a sustainable advantage over its competitors and created a niche position for FCB South Africa within its marketplace.

The South African Non Listed Company Award is run by professional services firm, Andersen, in conjunction with Wits Business School and Business Day. This year there were 130 entrants, of which 20 were awarded finalist status. In the 16 years the awards have been made, usually only the winner has been made public and no runners-up announced.
