Tender out for Sasol advertising account

Sasol announced yesterday, Thursday, 19 October 2006, that its advertising account would soon be going out to competitive tender as part of its regular review process. TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, which has held the Sasol account for the last four years, has confirmed it will tender for the Sasol advertising account.

"The review is not a reflection on the contribution made by the agency over the last four years. TBWA\Hunt\ Lascaris is one of South Africa's leading advertising practitioners with an international reputation for highly creative and effective advertising. We have been satisfied with TBWA's contribution and are delighted to see them engaging in the tender process," says Sasol Group Corporate Affairs manager Andre Botha.

He points out that according to Sasol's tender policy, all supplier contracts are put out to tender periodically.

"Sasol is a thoroughly professional and ethical client and we respect that all suppliers are expected to engage in a review and competitive tender every three years," says TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris Johannesburg MD David Wingfield.

"We salute our client's commitment to best practice in everything it does. The review was expected and we are looking forward to engaging in the process," says Wingfield.

"We have produced some excellent work for Sasol. This is thanks to a strong working relationship and quality input from our client," he adds. The work including the Joe Olympics campaign and catchy advertising celebrating the company's support for rugby and soccer.
