More sponsors for Pendoring

Pendoring - awards for excellence in Afrikaans advertising - last week announced that two more sponsors are on board this year: Sanlam, an old friend of the awards, and Swartland Wine Cellar.

Says Martie de Lange, sponsorship manager of Sanlam, "Sanlam gladly supports the Pendoring advertising competition. In our experience, the consumer enjoys to be spoken to in his own language. And, if the advertisings happens to be creative, humorous and spot on, the more so."

Hetta Saunderson, domestic marketing manager of Swartland, agrees: "The Afrikaans market is very important to us, and arts and culture form an equally integral part of our marketing strategy.

"It is a fine art to visually illustrate the essence of any product whilst conveying the correct attributes successfully to your target market - without losing innovation or creativity. It is important that unique ideas and concepts are awarded, and Swartland Wine Cellar is proud to be associated with Pendoring, [which] in its turn rewards inspired individuals and creative teams."

The founder members of the Pendoring are Media24, Caxton, De Kat, kykNET, ATKV, the Copywriters' Forum, Radiosondergrense and Rapport.

This year's competition has already opened and agencies are invited to visit www.pendoring.co.za for more information, regulations and categories. The deadline is 30 June.

Winners will be announced at a gala function on 1 September 2006 at VodaWorld in Midrand.
