Cellar d'Or acquires BEE partner
Cellar d'Or, a new premier wine destination launching in Spring 2006 in Sunninghill, Johannesburg, has acquired African Access International (Pty) Ltd (AAI), as its BEE partner. AAI now has a 26% stake in Cellar d'Or Limited.
AAI was launched one year ago by entrepreneurs, Dr Naledi Moya and Thabo Mpama. AAI is an empowerment arm and empire which deals with international development.
The Cellar d'Or concept is the brainchild of entrepreneur, Keith Kirby who realised the potential of bringing the Cape winelands to Gauteng, where 50% of all wine in the country is consumed.
At Cellar d'Or's first AGM on 25 January 2006, two representatives of the wine industry were appointed as directors to the Cellar d'Or Board. They are Mark Lindhorst of Lindhorst Wines and Dana Buys of Vrede en Lust.
Cellar d'Or showcases fine wines from their producer-shareholders, while the development also offers unique cellaring opportunities to private individuals, wine clubs and corporates. The cellars are now available to lease and are limited to 150 private cellars and eight corporate suites. In addition, Cellar d' Or's online wine sales are now operational, offering competitive prices and a door-to-door service: http://www.cellardor.co.za/
