Media Sales Trainee Executive

Job description

1. Identify and approach media agencies, brands and direct clients to create advertising sales opportunities for KMP Media.
2. Conduct agency and client visits to present KMP Media’s advertising, branded content, broadcast and media partnership offerings.
3. Carry out media research to understand advertisers, campaign activity, competitor presence, agency relationships and market opportunities.
4. Build and maintain a strong prospect database, including decision-makers, agencies, brands, campaign leads and follow-up status.
5. Support the sales team with proposals, presentations, follow-ups, meeting notes and client communication to help convert opportunities into revenue.

Skills required:

1. Excellent communication skills with the confidence to speak to agencies, clients and senior decision-makers.
2. Strong sales instinct with the hunger to prospect, follow up, present opportunities and close conversations.
3. Sharp media research skills to identify advertisers, agencies, campaign activity and new business opportunities.
4. Street-smart thinking with the ability to read people, adapt quickly and handle rejection positively.
5. Professional email, telephone and presentation skills with strong attention to detail.
6. High energy, discipline and resilience to work in a fast-paced, office-based media sales environment.

Qualifications and experience required:

1. Graduate in Media Studies, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, PR, Journalism or a closely related field.
2. 0–1 year experience; fresh graduates with strong potential are encouraged to apply.
3. Strong academic grounding in media, advertising, branding, communication or digital marketing.
4. Basic understanding of TV, radio, digital, social media, branded content and media agencies.
5. Must be available for a full-time, office-based role at KMP Media’s Bryanston office.
