     Background

    STADIO Higher Education is inviting applications for the position of: Module Coordinator and Lecturer – Digital Design and Fashion Practice


    Purpose

    To deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and academic support in Textiles and Fashion and Fashion Practice through a blended contact learning approach, while contributing to curriculum development, managing module resources, and ensuring quality assurance to enhance student success and support the academic objectives of the School of Fashion, Arts & Design.

    Key Responsibilities
    1. Lecture contact learning students in the following modules:
    • Textiles and Fashion 1 (BTAF152): 2 classes x 3 hours (weekly); 1 class x 1 hour (weekly – online)
    • Fashion Practice (HFPR152): 1 class x 3 hours (weekly)
    • Total teaching hours weekly = 10 hours
    1. Use a learning management system independently and/or collaborate to develop and deliver modules.
    2. Review and implement teaching, learning, and assessment materials (BTAF152, HFPR152).
    3. Work closely with the Module Coordinator to ensure high-quality teaching and learning delivery.
    4. Participate in curriculum development where necessary.
    5. Complete grading for all the module assessments.
    6. Manage and coordinate module resources in partnership with the Module Coordinator and Academic Manager.
    7. Procure textile materials and resources in line with the SOFAD budget and procurement strategy.
    8. Provide academic support to students aligned with STADIO Standard Operating Procedures and lecturer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    9. Complete all Quality Assurance requirements and documentation related to the modules.
    10. Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager (Academic Manager and Discipline Leader).


    Skills & Competencies
    • Strong knowledge and skills in fashion textiles and design.
    • Solid experience and understanding of fashion practice in the fashion industry (branding, professionalism, client relationships, and the fashion supply chain).
    • Sound teaching and assessment skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organisational, time management, and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
    • High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to cope with change.

    Qualifications & Experience
    • Minimum Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant studies in Fashion Design or a related field
    • At least three years of relevant industry experience and exposure in professional environments related to: Fashion Design & Garment Technology.
    • At least three years of teaching experience in a tertiary institution.
    • Experience in curriculum and materials development.
    • Knowledge and understanding of teaching practices and industry norms.
    • Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments will also be advantageous. 
    • Strong administrative skills (use of LMS and MS Suite environment).
