Qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Diploma or degree in communication, journalism, public relations/ admin
- Media relations or crisis
- Minimum 3 years working experience in Media Liaison or Public Relations
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of public sector communication protocols
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
- People orientated personality
- Manage all media, public communication, and stakeholder engagement activities (briefings, interviews, press release)
- Ensure accurate, timely, and strategic distribution of traffic information, incident updates, road safety campaigns and planned roadworks
- Report submissions and admin duties
- Duties relating to traffic and incident communication
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans
- Stakeholder engagement
- Understanding of freeway operations and traffic incident management
