A well-established South African packaging manufacturer is looking for an experienced sales manager to take ownership of its sales function and drive the next phase of commercial growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who knows B2B sales, manufacturing and customer relationships - and who is equally comfortable developing a team, winning new business and working closely with production.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and develop the sales team to achieve agreed targets
- Drive new business development and grow market share
- Manage and grow key customer relationships
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline
- Oversee quotations, pricing, forecasting and commercial performance
- Work closely with Production and Procurement to deliver against customer requirements
- Monitor market and competitor activity and identify new opportunities
- Coach and develop the sales team while driving accountability and performance
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, packaging or related production environment
- 3–5 years’ experience in flexible packaging, paper packaging or a closely related industry
- 3–5 years’ sales management / supervisory experience
- Proven track record in new business development and achieving sales targets
- Strong commercial and financial understanding
- Experience managing key accounts, pricing, quotations and forecasting
- Strong leadership, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- A hands-on, proactive and results-driven approach
A relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Business, Commerce, Marketing, Manufacturing or a related field would be advantageous.
