The latest Phase 2 announcement adds another wave of artists to the programme, which already features more than 50 acts set to perform on the banks of the Breede River in the Western Cape.

Leading the new additions are SAMA Award-winning electronic duo GoodLuck, alternative outfit Boo! and US-based DJ duo Dirty Texans. The announcement also includes Dave Ferguson, Tanner Wareham, Abby Nurock, Pink & Yellow, Tomas Kranenburg, The Groove Missionaries, The Saxby Twins, Dirty Disco Records, Teagan and Volk.

Kongos make a homecoming

One of the highlights of the 2027 festival will be the return of South African-born band Kongos, who are travelling from the US to perform at Up The Creek.

Known internationally for their distinctive sound and globally recognised hits, the band's return brings a homecoming element to the festival, which has long celebrated South African music and local talent.

They join an already announced first-phase line-up featuring Arno Carstens, AKING, BCUC, Booshle G, Keanan Eksteen, Magé, SUGARBIRD, Dierbaar, Barto Swiegers, Pedro Barbosa, Georgetown and Maxx & Love.

More than just the music

While the line-up is a major drawcard, Up The Creek has built its reputation around the wider riverside experience. Festivalgoers can expect river floats, campsite gatherings, dancing under the stars and plenty of opportunities to cool off in the Breede River.

Established in 1990, the festival has grown from a birthday party into one of South Africa's longest-running music festivals. It has maintained its intimate character and focus on live music, with no VIP area – meaning artists and festivalgoers share the same space.

The festival also has a history of unexpected moments, from surprise performances to its Anything That Floats competition, where festivalgoers put their creativity to the test on the river.

With more artist announcements still to come, the 2027 edition promises another four days of live music and summer festivities.
