The cinema exhibitor has launched a nationwide search for its next SK Squad, a group of content creators who will become the faces and voices of the brand across digital platforms.
The first phase of the search is aimed at passionate movie fans, lifestyle creators and digital influencers who know how to turn their love of cinema into engaging content.

The campaign is looking beyond traditional influencer content, with Ster-Kinekor hoping to find creators who can bring their own personalities and perspectives to the world of movies.
The goal is to build a community of cinema fans who can connect authentically with movie-loving audiences, create original content and champion the Ster-Kinekor experience across social media.
“We are looking for creativity, confidence, personality and a genuine love for watching movies on the big cinema screen,” says Lynne Wylie, chief marketing officer of Ster-Kinekor Theatres.

The eventual SK Squad will be made up of creators who can take that passion for movies and turn it into content that feels entertaining, relevant and distinctly their own.
The brief leaves plenty of room for creators to put their own spin on it, so whether your cinema personality is all about film reviews, pop culture, comedy, fashion, storytelling or simply being the person who gets way too excited about opening night, this is your chance to show it.
Throughout the search, the official Ster-Kinekor TikTok channel will serve as the campaign’s central hub, with fresh content, weekly competition updates and interactive moments for the wider cinema-loving community.
The campaign is also designed to create a space where movie fans can get involved and follow the search as it unfolds, rather than simply submitting an entry and waiting for the results.
Ster-Kinekor is running the initiative in collaboration with Biggi Popcorn and Slush Puppie, two brands already closely associated with the cinema experience.
For Ster-Kinekor, the search is ultimately about finding people who genuinely love movies and know how to share that enthusiasm with an audience.
“What we are looking for is creativity, confidence, personality and a genuine love for watching movies on the big cinema screen,” Wylie says.
So, if you’re already the person sending your friends trailers, planning group cinema trips and having very strong opinions about the latest release, you may as well put that knowledge to work.
Entries are open until 27 August 2026, late submissions won’t be accepted. For the full entry requirements, competition terms and conditions, visit the official SK Squad competition page on the Ster-Kinekor website.
