Bird Watching at the Loeries: More big names, big ideas and big creative conversations

This year Birdwatching at the Loeries gets inside the hottest conversations shaping advertising, culture and creativity right now.
This year will feature Siya Metane, CEO of SlikourOnLife and founding member of legendary hip-hop group Skwatta Camp, who explores the rise of music commerce and why music is rapidly becoming a powerful new channel connecting brands, artists and audiences.
Nhlanhla Ngcobo, group executive creative director at VML South Africa, will take us behind the scenes of the viral Vaseline Mntana ka Gogo story, revealing what it really takes to turn a great creative idea into a cultural moment.
Award-winning creatives will reveal the work they most wish they’d created, and industry leaders will give their take on some of adland’s biggest questions: Is human creativity really better than AI? Is advertising a safe space for women? And what does this year’s Loeries work tell us about the state of South Africa’s creative industry?
In addition, the podcast will explore the winning work with jury panels, and notable coverage will again include the annual Loeries Mayor’s Brunch, where it will catch up with the who’s who in the industry as well as the Cape Town Mayor.
Launched in 2023, the podcast provides audiences with insights from key African brand communications people and agencies, with live daily interviews recorded directly from Loeries event venues.
Bizcommunity’s Marketing & Media editor Danette Breitenbach will lead these multimedia conversations, and you can find us at the Homecoming Centre.
