Adopt-a-School Foundation, a partner entity of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, is supporting education excellence in Limpopo through its participation in the Vhembe East District Class of 2025 Matric Awards and the 2026 National Teaching Awards (NTA) Limpopo Provincial Ceremony.

“We appreciate the Foundation’s contribution towards recognising our learners and educators and for providing practical support that enables young people to pursue their educational aspirations. We welcome this continued collaboration in advancing excellence across our schools.” Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, MEC for education, Limpopo.

The Foundation was warmly received by the Limpopo Department of Education and hosted by MEC for Education, Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya, as government and education stakeholders gathered to celebrate outstanding learner and teacher achievement.

At the Vhembe East District Matric Awards, hosted by the district, the Adopt-a-School Foundation supported the district’s Top 25 learners with laptops, laptop bags and water bottles. The Foundation is also provided four Standard Bank vouchers valued at R5,000 each, was awarded to the top learner in Quintiles 1–4.

The contribution is aimed at ensuring that academic achievement is supported with practical resources that can assist learners as they progress to further education and future opportunities.

“We believe that academic excellence should not only be celebrated but supported. These learners have demonstrated determination, commitment and hard work, and we hope that these resources will help them as they take the next step in their educational journeys. Their success is an inspiration to other learners and a reminder of what is possible when young people are given the opportunity to thrive.” Banyana Mohajane, executive: programmes, Adopt-a-School Foundation.

The Foundation is also supporting the 2026 National Teaching Awards Limpopo Provincial Ceremony, which took place in Polokwane on 21 August 2026.

As part of its contribution, Adopt-a-School Foundation sponsored the National Best Teacher Award and the Kader Asmal Lifetime Achievement Award. Recipients of both awards will receive a R15,000 voucher, a laptop bag and a water bottle.

The Foundation says that recognising teachers is equally important to strengthening South Africa’s education system, given the critical role educators play in shaping learners' achievement and aspirations.

Vhembe East district director, Rendani Munzhelele, welcomed the foundation’s contribution to the district’s recognition of academic achievement.

“Partnerships such as this demonstrate what can be achieved when we work together to support our learners. Recognising excellence motivates our top-performing learners while inspiring others to strive for similar success. We appreciate Adopt-a-School Foundation’s commitment to supporting education and providing tangible resources that can make a difference in the lives of our young people.” Rendani Munzhelele, district director, Vhembe East education district.
