A new paradigm of retail

Nic Criticos, head of store design at Woolworths, says that the South African chain of retail stores is about to undergo a paradigm shift and will soon launch the 'store of the future'. He shares some of the trends leading the innovation. While Leigh Andrews interviews Wendy van Schalkwyk, CEO of MI-Ashanti International, on how to play digital catch-up and keep your business on trend.

It was announced on Friday that the Mall of Africa will open at the end of the month. As southern Africa's largest single-phase shopping centre development to date, the R5bn, 130,000m² super-regional mall will set a new benchmark for shopping centres on the continent.
