Di Paice, a person apart

You know the calibre of someone like Di Paice by how she touched and enriched the lives of those with whom she worked, and knew. Clearly, Di was a person apart... simply because her fine qualities set her apart as a person and a journalist. Time and again in the many tributes to her, those fortunate enough to have known her and have been associated with her pay tribute to Di's enthusiasm, professionalism, charm and the other fine qualities that made her so special.

Di Paice passed away on the morning of Friday, 24 July 2009, after a brave battle against breast cancer, and her passing has been met with an outpouring of grief and sorrow, and empathy, for her husband Peter and her children.

Along with all her other qualities, she had a wicked sense of humour and while she left an industry richer for having been involved in it, one gets the feeling reading the many tributes that Di would have been very touched, and perhaps surprised, by the feelings people have expressed on her death - and then she would have expected us all to roll up our sleeves and get on with emulating her passion and commitment.

Go well, Di, you have left a void…
