Eyes wide open

The need for constant vigilance no matter how high a flier you are is highlighted this week as the same Samy worm which recently attacked social network MySpace, goes for Twitter (www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/16/34903.html). With regard to things parasitic, Chinese diplomacy is becoming ever more visible on our radars, pointing to the fact that we should probably need to be hyper aware of all deals that are made to sound good, but in reality might end up being good for only a few. Stay informed of all the latest Asian manoeuvrings in our region at www.fmprc.gov.cn/zflt/eng/zxxx, because when precious human and natural resources are unfairly drained or inefficiently directed it affects us all. Perhaps looking at new scenarios will help us negotiate any knock-on effects of potential job cuts at the state broadcaster (www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/17/34939.html). See how the CEO of the Community Chest, Amelia Jones, advocates doing things in more authentic ways by identifying that any CSI initiatives should be driven at the highest strategic levels in business. If you want the inside story on how many a developing nation including Panama and Iraq, has been undermined by deliberately underhand economic policies and what to do about it - Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins www.johnperkins.org is a must read. Perhaps acting like martial artists ourselves, we should continually be implementing those tried and trusted SWOT analysis techniques to counter any new opportunities - or threats.
