| No Comment | For all those with kids following the broader government school holiday timetable, this cold morning would have signalled another start to a ritual: the winter school run. Groan. A recent presentation by BBDO/Net#work highlights the importance of the daily rituals in our lives and the opportunities for brands to capitalise on those rituals. I don't know if there is anything a brand could do to get a grumpy 6-year-old out of bed on a dark, cold winter morning and into her school clothes on time, while trying to find books that were there last term and have now mysteriously disappeared, and wondering why cats that can locate a packet of biltong, and rip it to shreds in three seconds, can't open their own darn packets of ‘seafood delight deluxe sachets... Anyway, I'm still shell-shocked from the early start this morning and there is a point. The idea is that rituals are important in the lives of your consumers and agencies and marketers need to find out how to work their client's brands into them. It's an “extra lens”, “a defined series of actions that move people emotionally from one place to another”. See below.

MarketingGeography, the most powerful segmentation tool[Gill Randall] The traditional practice of marketers and media planners to segment their brand users by demographics and psychographics is no longer totally relevant in today's marketplace. It amazes me that a large portion of marketers' time is spent analysing how their customer profile differs from competing brands and by implication, how they will be the chosen brand by a specific segment within a category of users. Where we have found differences in the profile of users is by location. Interim feedback from feel-good SA campaignWhile South Africans are still positive and passionate about the country, they would like to be free of poverty and crime. With the complex nature of the construction and erection of the roof of the stadium, however, it was decided that it would be too high a risk to keep the stadium in the FIFA Confederations Cup schedule. In this day and age, with consumers even more careful about where they spend their hard-earned rands, improved customer service can give you the edge over your competitors. Consumers only want to call onceOrganisations must emphasise maintaining customer satisfaction in order to ensure that they retain good customer service.
