Show profile Hide profileAs an academic, I have eight years' experience in lecturing in creative fields at a tertiary level and across a diverse selection of subjects. This includes lecturing both theory and practical subjects ranging from History of Art, Drawing, both traditional as well as digital, film and video studies and practice, art design theory and research as well as general media studies and digital software training. I also facilitate individual undergraduate research papers on a three-year degree exit level.
Holding the position of senior lecturer my duties have also included program and curriculum development as well as being the module lead on various modules and programs, including both theoretical and practical. I have also been responsible for content development as well as organizing, distributing and maintaining consistency and quality across multiple campuses on a national scale.
As an artist, I have built up an expertise in new media and digital art, especially video art. I maintain a steady artistic output whilst partaking in curated exhibitions. I pride myself on delivering unique high quality artworks that are engaging on both a technical as well as a conceptual level, something my portfolio attests to. I am intrigued by new technological and digital development and finding artistic application for them. Yet I temper this enthusiasm with a grounding in traditional art and skills, seeking enhancement through a synthesising of digital and traditional skills.
Furthermore, I have experience in professional art exhibition installation and curation, administration and maintenance which provides a pragmatic grasp of technical presentation requirements and attention to detail.
I have laid the foundations of my career in obtaining my Master's degree in Fine Arts;
specializing in new media art with a focus on digital image manipulation and video-centric
art. Building on an artistic career whilst pursuing an academic path created an inevitable fusion
between practice and theory. This symbiotic relationship between thought and execution
generates an ability to freely move between them, resulting in a richer experience of both.
This integrated relationship is further bolstered by extensive experience in professional art
exhibition installation, administration and maintenance which provides a pragmatic grasp
of technical presentation requirements.
I also maintain a steady artistic output, producing award-winning and acclaimed artworks whilst partaking in curated exhibitions and have a good standing within the art world. The aforementioned translates into a focus on professionalism in both practical and theoretical presentation, which provides a working knowledge of the art world in general.
