Black empowerment for Orbes Media

Orbes Media, the events management company for the SABC Careers, Education & Training Faire has announced that Lerato Monageng has acquired 26% of Orbes Media shares and has been appointed to the board of Directors.

Danie Swart, Marketing Manager at SABC Education, explains: 'When the joint venture between Orbes Media and SABC Education was formed as an SMME women empowered organisation to organise the SABC Careers, Education and Training Faire, it was our intention to grow the company to the point that Orbes Media would become black empowered. Congratulations to Lerato Monageng and Orbes Media'.

Monageng joins the organising team with many years experience in the exhibition industry. He has an impressive track record at Kagiso Exhibitions, best known for their very successful Rand Easter Show.

The Johannesburg Expo held in February 2005, hosted under Monageng's management was hailed a tremendous success, 40 000 learners and teachers attended, hosting a total of 155 schools.
