Mercure Hotels South Africa appoints Thulani Xhali

Mercure Hotels South Africa has appointed Thulani Xhali as its new general manager. Xhali, who has held leadership positions in the Netherlands, foresees moving the group towards a shared vision, showing them where to go but not how to get there.

He has a Master of Science (Msc) qualification in international hospitality and service from the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. This accreditation with his dissertation centred around sustainability which is a global Accor drive.

Xhali envisions moving the teams within Mercure South Africa from working teams into high performing teams, thus taking people development a step further.
