The University of Pretoria has launched the Centre for Japanese Studies to enhance knowledge about Japan and South Africa, with a focus on the academic and business community. A number of events, aimed at strengthening ties with Japanese business communities, universities and societal institutions, will be held by the university. One of the first events, held last week, was a Study-in-Japan Fair, during which eight visiting universities from Japan provided students with information on career, study and exchange opportunities in Japan.
