Woolies strike ends

South African Commercial Catering and Allied Workers Union (Saccawu) and Woolworths have agreed to end the strike that had lasted four weeks. The retail giant and Saccawu had been at loggerheads over recognition of the union's organisational rights. Both parties confirmed on Tuesday they would enter into a process of the verification of membership which would be monitored by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.
