The Association for Communication and Advertising along with the Provantage Media Group and Mindshare South Africa successfully hosted the 2017 Apex masterclass and awards ceremony at The Pavillion at the Sandton Convention Centre on 6 July 2017.
To mark 14 years since its unveiling, the Cape Town International Convention Centre made a donation of R70,000 to its five Western Cape-based community partners; Ikhaya le Themba, Abalimi Bezekhaya, the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research, Journey of Enrichment, and Mothers Unite.

Saturday, 24 June 2017 saw the winners of the Sunday Times Literary Awards announced at Tiso Blackstar Group's new office venue at the Hill on Empire in Parktown, Johannesburg. Each winner received a R100,000 prize from the Sunday Times for their contribution to South African literature.
