The chief executive officer of the SBTS group, Evelyn Lewis described the company as an integral IT partner that is providing technical expertise and project management skills to institutions.
According to Lewis, the SBTS group has seen the IT industry evolve from a vehicle for addressing tactical concern, such as time and cost saving, a reality which has brought the importance of IT out of the data centre and into the boardroom.
As an IT partner, the group will ensure the use of streamlined process in technology that can position an organisation for revenue generation with increased employee productivity.
The keynote speaker, Central Bank Governor JD Rogers, highlighted that Sierra Leone has an estimated population of 5 million, of which over 70% are self-employed within the rural economy; similarly about 70% dwelling in the urban areas are also self-employed and largely in the informal sector.
By and large, he went on, the informal sector accounts for about 75% of the country's labour force.
