The 31st Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), 22 July to 1 August 2010, has partnered with the Swedish Film Institute to celebrate the country's cinema. There will also be a selection of thrilling, edgy, thought-provoking and funny films from India and the Indian Diaspora.
The focus on Swedish cinema also brings attention to the growing relationship between South Africa and Sweden in as far as creating cinema is concerned.
Along with feature-length films, the festival also celebrates topical Indian cinema through the short film medium. Programme booklets with the full screening schedule and synopses of all the films are available free at cinemas, Computicket and other outlets.
