Anti-pornography campaign launched

The Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba launched the 'Say No To Child Pornography' campaign at Ster-Kinekor Maponya Mall in Soweto on Friday 4 June 2010. Ster-Kinekor has partnered with the Film and Publication Board (FPB) to raise awareness around the sexual exploitation of children during the 2010 World Cup.

"Advocacy for this campaign, specifically ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, is crucial, therefore we fully support such a worthy cause. It's an imperative task, which all South Africans should get involved with," said Ster-Kinekor's senior marketing and communication manager, Trish Downing.

The campaign encourages responsible behaviour and vigilance amongst children, parents and caregivers in protecting children from harmful materials and possible abuse. Anyone wishing to report cases of child pornography or abuse should immediately contact the police or Africa's first internationally recognised hotline for reporting sexual abuse of minors - +27 (0)80 014 8148 or go to www.fpbprochild.org.za
