Student takes a bite out of SL/Apple Mac competition
Natasja Fourie, a first year visual communication student at the AAA School of Advertising, Cape Town, recently walked away with top honours in the SL/Apple Mac Film competition for her experiential film, "Retrace. Retreat. Retaliate." The film has also recently been selected as a finalist in the M-Net edit 2006 competition.
The short film is a social commentary that deals with the underlying concept of epistemology. It explores memory as a tool for constructing events, thereby effectively creating one's reality and illusions.
Her prizes included the new Apple Mini plus wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, an i-Pod Nano and money.
