Plug and play with new Dion Wired stores

Dion Wired's first consumer electronics concept store has opened in Centurion in Gauteng, with Fourways (Gauteng) and Gateway (Durban) to follow in the New Year. "This is a completely new shopping experience for South Africans," says Greg Hirsch, GM of Dion. "It is a customer friendly and service-oriented retail experience... Dion Wired's signature of 'plug and play' reflects perfectly on the world in which we live today."

Continues Hirsch, "There's an important new trend in retail. This is being fuelled by the increasingly complex, get-it-done today, need to know, high pressure world in which we live. People need to be connected in a whole new way, have custom-made solutions and tap into electronic offerings the likes of which have never been seen."

High tech

Dion Wired is going high tech with TV/VCR/satellite, audio and photographic equipment, as well as music and movies. Appliances include all major home appliances and gadgets. The multimedia offering features computer hardware, office equipment, telecommunications tools, computer software, gaming hardware and accessories, cellphones and accessories.

Stock of local and international brands includes LG, Samsung, Sony, Defy, Canon to premium names such BOSE, Sennheiser, Miele, Garmin, SMEG and Apple, teamed up with value-for-money deals.

The state-of-the-art stores are designed to be contemporary and inviting, reflecting the cutting-edge design used in the products on display. In-store product and pricing information will be enhanced with tips, guidance and information. Plasma screens offer as-you-shop information, creating an interactive shopping experience.

Pushing the boundaries

The Dion Wired Promise of Quality includes ongoing service and support for any item purchased, even after the warranty has expired. There'll be customer deliveries, installations of major appliances, televisions and large audio products, and the removal of old and unwanted appliances.

"The unique Dion promises reflect our desire to push the retail boundaries," remarks Hirsch.

In addition, "propeller heads" - highly trained, techno-savvy guys - will either help out in store or do house calls.

"Their mission is to alleviate computer problems, educate people to fearlessly embrace technology and to show people what is possible with the techno-gear they have purchased from Dion Wired," explains Hirsh.

Help people

"Whether our customers need an upgrade, a repair or spy ware and virus removal, or even just a lesson in how to use the new digital camera they bought, the propeller heads will have the tools and ability to help people move through their technology-fuelled lives."

In addition to standard methods of payment, Dion Wired stores will also help arrange hire purchase and readily accept all Dion Blue Chip cards.
