Win a Nokia Lumia in Bizcommunity Springleap/Nokia promotion
The design contest appeals to the Nokia Developer community to take inspiration from the recently launched Nokia Lumia with Windows Phone range. The contest invites designers from across the globe to illustrate what it means to be an app developer, offering R20 000 in cash prizes for the top three designs.
"The Nokia Lumia launch in South Africa has created a great deal of positive buzz. The phones are attracting attention from innovative developers who appreciate the Windows Phone technology blended with the design appeal of the Metro user interface," says Derrick Kotze, Nokia's developer marketing manager. "We are eager to see this merging of innovation and design creativity in the winning t-shirt design."
Designers are tasked with creating a t-shirt design that will instantly identify the wearer as a Nokia Developer or associate it with the brand, but to do so in a creative, self-interpretation of what it means to be a developer.
Important aspects
Three important aspects need to be kept in mind as focal points for all designs: Imagination, Lumia and mobile.
The contest is open for submissions at no cost until 20 July 2012. Designs are live for voting until 27 July 2012. A design panel comprising Springleap and Nokia members will choose three winning designs from the top 15 voted. Winners will be announced on 30 July 2012, via the Springleap website and social media accounts.
"To be working with such an esteemed brand is certainly a great opportunity for us. What better way than to engage our community in interpreting their passion for technology through a design contest themed around developers and the new handset. This is certainly an example of a forward-thinking brand honouring design and therefore being honoured through design via our community of creatives," said Catherine Ronaasen, COO of Springleap.com.
All will be revealed next week of how Bizcommunity tweeters can win the Nokia Lumia 800 phone.
