Zuma off to Qatar

Zuma is scheduled to hold talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani tomorrow.

The two leaders are also expected to share views on the security situation in the Middle East and North Africa, especially Libya.

The President will then depart for Davos, Switzerland to attend the annual World Economic Forum meeting.

From Davos, on 27 January, he will leave for Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to attend the 18th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly.

The theme for the AU Summit this year is "Boosting Intra-African Trade".

Yesterday, Zuma attended the commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana in Isandlwana, KwaZulu Natal.

In the battle, which took place on 22 January 1879, Zulu warriors under King Cetshwayo kaMpande, equipped mainly with the traditional assegai iron spears and cow-hide shields, defeated the British troops.
