Good Hope's Becker quits to focus on acting

Stephanie B currently presents Weekend Injection on Good Hope FM on Fridays, 7pm - 10pm and on Saturdays and Sundays, 6pm - 10pm.

Says Becker, “Good Hope FM has been an amazing and memorable experience; I was part of an amazing team and am grateful for the opportunity to have been part of it. I love radio and it will definitely continue to be part of my calling.”

“Natalie advised us earlier in the month that she will be leaving the station to pursue her promising acting career and also focus on her career in television. She has been a wonderful team player with a wealth of radio experience and we are sorry to see her go, but wish her well with her future career ventures,” says Good Hope programme manager Gerard Muller.

International exposure

Becker won the 2008/9 South African Film & Television Golden Horn Award (SAFTA) for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the international award-winning film, The World Unseen earlier in the year and now has international exposure alongside John Malkovich in one of her biggest film roles yet, Disgrace. This follows other international films, including The Deal, Scorpion King 2; she starts filming Atlantis for the BBC on 31 August.

South African audiences also know Becker from her lifestyle TV show, Free Spirit, a conscious living, which she has presented for the past three years.

Becker has just signed up for a new TV show, Tropika Island of Treasure, as a presenter alongside DJ Fresh, and will start filming in Zanzibar in October. This show will be aired during prime time from late October onwards.
