This announcement follows Tyson Properties' successful expansion into the Western Cape and Gauteng, officially elevating its status to that of a national property company.

"We are extremely proud to have achieved this significant milestone. Not only has Tyson Properties survived the fluctuating property trends experienced over the last few years, but we have also thrived and continually managed to grow our brand and our operation," explains Chris Tyson, CEO of Tyson Properties.

"Although our strategy going forward is to open ten offices a year for the next five years, our objective is to ensure that each of the office locations and personnel will be strategically selected and not opened to simply fulfil our overall goal."

Progressive company

Established in 2005, the property brand has grown from a single office of six people to a progressive real estate company boasting 21 offices and 250 agents. Most notably, Tyson Properties is the only real estate agency in KwaZulu-Natal to be awarded affiliate status to Christies International Real Estate. This association gives Tyson Properties exclusive access to 138 affiliates, with 25,000 agents in over 1,100 offices in 44 countries.

In May 2015 the first of the national offices was opened in Atlantic Seaboard & City Bowl in Cape Town. "Research revealed that property in this region of the Western Cape is highly sought after. Testament to this statement is the fact that during a four month analyses an average of 44 units were sold per month, at an average selling price of R8m per unit," confirms Tyson.

"The decision to open our Gauteng office in Fourways was based on the notion that the area is set to become the largest and most sought-after retail and business centre in the southern hemisphere. With the Fourways precinct development plans under way, the area has become the fastest growing residential and commercial node in the northern Gauteng district. Our aim is to ensure they we are at the forefront of property sales and rentals for the greater Fourways area," he says.

The group's success is not only emphasised by the number of agents employed or offices opened, but also by the fact that it exceeded R1.6bn in sales during 2014/15.
