Austell Laboratories turns four

Independent, Johannesburg-based pharmaceutical company Austell Laboratories will celebrate its fourth birthday in April 2009. Initially the company was established as Camox Pharmaceuticals in 2000 with an initial focus on tender-based products. In 2005 the company entered the private market and Austell Laboratories (Pty) Ltd was established.

Beginning with seven products, six sales representatives and a sales manager, Austell has achieved 600% expansion in its product range and has extended its sales team to over 35 staff members in just over three years.

In April, Austell will extend its range of products with the launch of two skincare products in South Africa.

“Our strategy has always been to focus on competitively priced, quality products, authenticated by clinical evidence,” says Riaan Botes, sales and marketing manager at Austell. “It is with pride that we are able to effectively serve customers both with or without medical aid insurance.”

Austell recently also expanded its national footprint with the appointment of new sales staff in Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng.
