The Quality Assurance Council, UMALUSI has after rigorous verification of all examination processes, declared the 2014 NSC examinations as free, fair and credible.

This achievement is attributed to the unwavering commitment demonstrated by examination officials at the DBE and across the provinces.

Candidates will access their results in various newspapers on 6 January using only exam numbers.

The Department however urges candidates to obtain their results at the school or exam centre where they wrote their examination. Candidates will receive support and advice as well as relevant information regarding their results and the available options.

Members of the Portfolio Committee on Education as well as the Select Committee on Education and Recreation and Education MECs from several provinces will attend the event.

The minister and deputy minister will host a breakfast meeting with some top achieving learners and their parents in Johannesburg.

The department will not respond to speculation published in various newspapers. The minister will provide details in her speech at 6pm live on television on Monday.
