Gauteng toll road 'warping'
Parts of the Gauteng highway network, upgraded at a cost of R20-billion, are starting to warp and will have to be resurfaced particularly along the route between Beyers Naude and Malibongwe according to an article published in The Star and on Independent On Line.
Large chunks of the freeway will have to be cut-up before the resurfacing work can begin and already the yellow demarcation lines along the edge of the highway are no longer straight.
It is believed that the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral) is aware of the problem but is currently locked in a dispute with the contractor over who will pay for the rehabilitation work.
