AWIEF2025 opens next week in Cape Town











The summer festival offers 27 surfing and ocean films from around the world screened in two indoor locations, as well as the traditional outdoor location, Clifton 4th Beach.

Wavescape has partnered with Cape Town Film and Media Promotion - a division of Wesgro - to host Wavescape Shortcuts, a project to nurture filmmaking talent held at Woodstock Exchange on Monday 5 December. Next up is Slide Night, which presents 10 salty tales by 10 ocean gurus.
Wavescape hosts its Beach Reach on 10 December. This is a fun, interactive day for kids to learn about beach safety and ocean conservation. Lastly, there’ll be a partnership with the Sea-Change Children’s night at the Two Oceans Aquarium on 11 December.

Wavescape is also giving away surfboards, wetsuits and surf gear in raffles throughout the festival.
