Launched in 2011, Zahara's debut album, Loliwe boasts record breaking sales and reviews with the latest being an unprecedented achievement of eight SAMA Awards at the recent 2012 ceremony held at Sun City - making her the only artist to have won as many awards since the inception of the SAMAs in 1994.

A vital role in development programmes

"We are delighted to be associated with one of South Africa's rising musical talents. Our association with Zahara is a natural fit for Nedbank and a true embodiment of our ethos to Make Things Happen. Her remarkable story is a beacon of hope for all of us - with a little help, each of us can achieve our goals and aspirations," said Sydney Mbhele, divisional executive of integrated marketing at Nedbank.

This association will see Zahara play a vital role in marketing, promotion and events and socio-economic development programmes, which include corporate social responsibility and consumer education. "Nedbank understands that community development is key to creating a sustainable economy towards the upliftment and development of our society. As an individual, Zahara resonates with the populous whose dreams and aspirations can be enabled through financial fitness built over a period of time," said Vanessa Singh, head of retail marketing at Nedbank.

"We are grateful that Zahara has an opportunity to work with a great brand such as Nedbank to contribute and guide her in managing her financial affairs," said Thembinkosi Nciza, CEO of TS Records. "This partnership is not only important for her as an artist but for the music industry. As we've all seen in the past that many of our local artists face financial challenges post their prime. We also hope that this association will serve as an example and encourage other artists to be financially fit."
