Winehouse - death by misadventure and alcohol
Her name might have said it all, but consuming far too much alcohol caused Amy Winehouse's death. An inquest found she had 416mg of alcohol for every 100ml of blood in her body according to British media reports and Tonight.
The legal driving limit in the UK is 80mg indicating that she was more than five times over the legal limit. The inquest ruled that she had died of "misadventure".
The hearing in London was told about Winehouse's battle with alcohol and drug addiction throughout her brief career and how she had not drunk any alcohol for a brief period until the day before she died. She had apparently been trying to conquer her addiction.
Results from the toxicology tests released in August showed that there were no illegal substances in her body when she died.
