Huge line-up this weekend at Kirstenbosch

This Sunday, 3 January 2010 sees a host of SA's top artists - A Fistful of Diamonds, Josie Field, Farryl Purkiss, Dan Patlansky - perform at Kirstenbosch as part of the Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts series. Congrats to Monique Steyn who won two tickets to the show on the BizLounge.

Josie Field is hailed as a new alternative pop performer and, aside from having two radio hits with her first two singles, Josie Field is a captivating young soul on stage, singing her heart with passion, enchanting, spiritual and magnificent. Whether playing her original material from her debut album ‘Mercury' or entertaining with her choice of eclectic but well presented popular covers she is an entertainer of note.

The mellow folk blues sounds of Farryl Purkiss are a joy to listen to. This surfer/interior designer/ /musician has captured the imagination of all as he plays his guitar across the world, add to that his song writing and harmonica playing and you have a set up that is pure entertainment.

The final diamond in this trio is Dan Patlansky. A critically acclaimed Blues guitarists his busy schedule has shown that he is one of the best and most respected blues artists to ever come out of South Africa. He has shared the stage with legendary blues artists across the world bringing his own interpretation into the mix.

This concert shows off the diamonds that are in our music industry.

The Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts take place at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (Rhodes Avenue, Newlands, Cape Town) on Sundays from 5.30pm - 6.45pm.
