Prime Circle set to rock The Lyric
This world-class band, with countless live performances and three albums under its belt - two with gold status and one platinum selling - is one of the country's favourite rock bands.
Prime Circle arrives at The Lyric riding a tidal wave of success. The band's EMI debut album All or Nothing is near platinum status and the outfit has earned two 2008 MTN SAMA nominations for Best Rock Album and Song of the Year.
After a sell-out national tour at the end of 2008, a capacity crowd at Cape Town's Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in January, and the massive Consider the World success of 2009, Prime Circle is set to blow the audience away at The Lyric.
Prime Circle has delivered a raft of number one singles including Live This Life, Hello, She Always Gets What She Wants and My Inspiration from its albums Hello Crazy World, Live This Life; and She Always Gets What She Wants and Out of This Place from their newest album All or Nothing. Prime Circle has set the benchmark for South African artists by succeeding in building up a massive fan base and consistently achieving gold sales with its albums.
The band is best known for its full-throttle rock anthems, based on tight guitar work, memorable hooks and choruses, and great melodies. But the band is equally capable of slowing things down for beautiful rock ballads that compare to anything produced by the likes of Counting Crows.
Prime Circle is well known for its dynamic and raw live performances, and knows how to entertain a crowd - the band has performed in front of large audiences in events such as Dubai Desert Rock Festival, the 2006 Coca Cola Colab Massive Mix, several 46664 appearances and the 2008 My Coke Fest.
The band has also made its mark on the international music scene with a performance in London at Sheperd's Bush Empire among others.
At these events, Prime Circle performed alongside some of the biggest names in South African and international music including Incubus, Queen, Iron Maiden, Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Prodigy, Live Johnny Clegg, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Dozi, Mama Afrika, Annie Lennox, Indie Arie, Paul Rogers (Bad Company), Katie Melua, and Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff.
This exclusive performance takes place on Friday, 3 July 2009 at 20h30 at The Lyric Theatre. Tickets cost only R85, so book now at The Lyric Box Office (011 248 5000) or through Computicket to avoid disappointment.
