Red Bull Music Academy Weekender comes to SA

The Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) will bring the Red Bull Music Academy Weekender to South Africa for the first time from 1-4 September 2016. The event has taken place all over the world, including cities such as Belfast, Warsaw, Tokyo and Stockholm.

The four-day festival experience will take place in various venues in and around Johannesburg. The festival programme will feature over 60 local, African and international acts across six venues and includes club nights, live music, exhibitions, lectures, workshops and many more cultural music experiences.

Under the Red Bull Music Academy’s umbrella and ethos of celebrating music and culture, the RBMA Weekender will tell a distinctly African story by exposing the African and South African music scene to the world.

Those who have featured at past RBMA Weekender events include Theo Parrish, Four Tet, Neneh Cherry, Stormzy, Ibeyi, Todd Terje and Buraka Som Sistema.
