Five things about 'Youthless'
Today marks the pre-order release of Shortstraw's brand new album, 'Youthless', on iTunes. I emailed this quirky-kins band a few questions about their third full-length album, which is set for official release on 5 January, 2015.
What does it mean to be 'youthless'?
It means getting older but not being able to grow up.
What can fans expect from the new album? Similar sounds to previous releases or something a little different?
It's hard to be objective about this kind of thing, but we feel the sound has matured a bit. Some of the songs may feel a bit different on this album but in a good way.
Why the decision to release a few teaser tracks as a Christmas surprise for those who pre-order?
Christmas is a time of giving, right?
If this album could be described as a meal, what would it be and why?
Cereal. It gets you going in the morning.
How do you usually spend the festive season?
We are usually on tour, but we are taking a break before we tour the new album nationally at the end of January. Which reminds us - find deets here: www.shortstraw.co.za
If you pre-order 'Youthless' before 25 December, 2014, you will receive six of the tracks from 'Youthless' on Christmas Day, before the official release of the album. Pre-order 'Youthless' here.
